Golden Words

God continues to remind me that desire more wisdom in every area I lack it. And when I say every area, I mean every area. I know I will be growing in wisdom for the rest of my life. I pray that I will continue to be moldable in the Father's hands. I pray I will never think I know enough. I pray I will seek God's wisdom in every decision I make, in every step I take, and in the words I speak.

I've been reading the Proverbs lately because Solomon asked for wisdom from God. God told him he could have anything and Solomon asked God for wisdom. He pours out this wisdom in each one of the Proverbs. It's Godly wisdom that I can cling to and pray into my life on a daily basis. So here are the two verses I'm praying into my life today.

"A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver." ~Proverbs 25:11

Father God, I pray that You will help me to be slow to speak. May my words be filled with love and seasoned with Your grace. Help me to not speak a word that does not glorify You. May I only speak words that uplift Your name. I know I will stumble at times, but I pray You will help me to keep my mouth shut when the words that could come out are harmful. All I desire is to be Your love extended with words that aptly fit into the situation I am in.

Longing for Words Set in Gold,
Sarah

"Like the coolness of snow at harvest time is a trustworthy messenger to those who send him; he refreshes the spirit of his masters." ~Proverbs 25:13

Dear Lord, I desire to be a trustworthy messenger of the message You have given me. Your Son Jesus Christ lived, died and was resurrected for my sins. I live because he died for me. I love because He first loved me. May I share this great message in a way that refreshes those around me and gives people a new awareness of who You are. May the message of Your love not be lost in my life!

One Proud Messenger,
Sarah

How will you apply these verses to your life today? What will your words be like when they come out of your mouth? What kind of messenger will you be for God? I know I feel challenged and I hope you do to.

Sorry, I haven't made an entry lately. I honestly forgot how to get into this blog. I've been trying for quite a while, as you can see. Now I have it figured out.

That reminds me of the other day. I pulled into a gas station to get some gas. My tank was showing me that I was in desperate need of it. Normally, I don't allow it to get that low, but this time I had been running around for different appointments and it just slipped my mind.

Well, there I am at the pump. I swipe my card as usual, but I'm denied. No, I wasn't denied because of my card. I was denied because I was at a Sam's Club Gas station. I was not a member and I did not have a member's card. I felt pretty silly. I needed to get back in my vehicle and drive away.

Wow, not a member! There are so many things on this earth that I'm not a member of. It was pretty thought provoking. I will be excluded from many things here on earth because of that good ole member status. That's not a bad thing sometimes because some things I don't want to be a member of.

I just started thinking about how membership here on earth can be taken away from you, but my membership in Heaven has been bought and sealed with Christ blood. I signed up for eternity and no one can tell me I need a card to get in. No one can tell me I don't belong for any amount of reasons. I am my Father's and He is mine.

In fact, God has written me on the palm of His hand. How beautiful is that?

"See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands..." ~Isaiah 49:16 (NIV)

Wow, it's even better than a pen signature. We have been engraved on the palm of God's hand. Nothing can remove the place God has made for me. I'm a member of eternity. The club that will not reject me, not throw me out, not ask for dues, not take my name off the list, and certainly not ask for identification to get in. God knows me by name, He knows every hair on my head, and His Son will be there to welcome me in with open arms.

Wisdom vs. Folly

Proverbs 10
I really enjoy this passage as it so clearly lays out the difference between a man of wisdom and a man of folly. Here are just a few snippets from the passage:

vs. 4 ~ Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.
vs. 9 ~ The man of integrity walks securely...
vs. 11 ~ The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life...
vs. 17 ~ He who heeds discipline shows the way to life...

I pray my hands will be diligent for the Kingdom of God and that I will not sit around idolly waiting for things that don't matter.
I pray I will be a woman of integrity, stretched in every way, so that I might walk securely in all that God intends me to be.
I pray my mouth will be cleansed and that I will speak words that bring life to God's people.
I pray God will discipline me further and help me better walk in His ways.

Our lives amount to nothing, if we are not fully given over to the wisdom of our Heavenly Father. He alone holds all wisdom in His hands and has the power to make sense out of the most illogical things. Let us each walk in His light and shine His glory, so that others may know who we serve.

1 John 1:5 says, "...God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all."

May God's light be so evident in our lives that people can't help but notice it. I pray that people will be attracted to the light within us and desire to know what our God is all about. May we live lives that exemplify the Father's heart and bring glory to His name.

I pray that your days will be filled with joy and that God will continue to help you experience His peace that passes all understanding.

In His Grip of Grace,
Sarah

Steps of Faith

FAITH!
The Israelites are not strangers to walking by faith. Sure they had days where their lack of it was more evident, than their dependence on God. But don’t we all.

Exodus 12:31, Pharaoh finally gives his approval for the Israelites to be released from their slavery. Moses leads them from Egypt, a land of bondage, towards the unknown with miracle after miracle to be performed before their very eyes.

Exodus 13:17 - 14:31, God leads the Israelites to the edge of the Red Sea. Their enemy is coming behind them, their future is beyond the Red Sea, but right now/today ~ they must cross the Red Sea. They must live by faith, not by sight. Are you at the edge yet? Are you ready to see God perform something amazing in your own life?

Here it is, don’t miss it! The parting of the sea, the Israelites walking on dry land.

Hebrews 11:27 says, “By faith he (Moses) left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who was invisible.”

May you take steps of faith towards God knowing that He has been faithful to you and has not lost track of what your life will become in Him. Continue to walk forward. Let us be people of faith, living out the days God has ordained for us.

People of FAITH.

F = Forward
A = Again
I = Into
T = Treasures
H = of Him

Lead me Forward Again Into Treasures of Him (You Lord)! My heart desires to follow You and every treasure You have stored up for me along the path that leads to eternity! Even when my steps are taken blindly, may I take them by faith in You!

Taking Steps of FAITH,
Sarah

No Limits

"God is infinite! That's the hardest thought I will ask you to grasp. You cannot understand what infinite means, but don't let it bother you--I don't understand it and I'm trying to explain it! "Infinite" means so much that nobody can grasp it, but reason nevertheless kneels and acknowledges that God is infinite. We mean by infinite that God knows no limits, no bounds and no end. What God is, He is without boundaries. All that God is, He is without bounds or limits." ~A.W. Tozer from "The Attributes of God"

I'm reading this book on the Attributes of God. It's my third time going through it and I absolutely love it. This time I'm studying it for the next book I will be writing and I thought I would take the time to share some thoughts I have along the way. It's an incredible book and it will truly leave you in awe, if you choose to read it.

God's Infinitude

What a thought? It's one that I can't grasp. There is no beginning and no end to who He is in our lives. It is what is! In fact, I think it gives peace to all those unanswered questions in life. The ones that are left in my brain rattling around, waiting for the moment to just sit with God and ask Him one by one.

Truly though, I will forget every question when I get to Heaven, as I'm there in the presence of my Father, the One who existed before all things and will exist for all eternity. I will be there with my arms extended in worship or my knees may give out and I may be bowing down in worship. This is the One who sent His Son, I will be in the presence of my Father God and His Son Jesus Christ. Oh, what a glorious day that will be.

We cannot measure infinitude. We try to with our human terms, but nothing really comes close to what God is! Here is a thought from Tozer I would like to leave you with.

"If there were a point where God stopped, then God wouldn't be perfect. For instance, if God knew almost everything, but not quite everything, then God wouldn't be perfect in knowledge. His understanding wouldn't be infinite, as it says in Psalm 147:5.

Let us take all that can be known--past, present and future, spiritual, psychic and physical--everywhere throughout the universe. And let us say God knows all of it except one percent--He knows ninety-nine percent of all that can be known. I'd be embarrassed to go to heaven and look into the face of a God that didn't know everything. He has to know it all or I can't worship Him. I can't worship that which is not perfect."

How have you been experiencing God's infinitude in your life? I would enjoy hearing about it. Let's discuss this. Please feel free to leave a comment. I'll share more about this subject during the week.

Live in the freedom that God is at your beginning and at your end. He is holding it all in His hands!

~Sarah
